Transportation is vital for all families to lead productive lives.
When transportation is limited, getting to work is difficult, and getting children to appointments is nearly impossible.
October arrives, and a family needs a car.
We started October by helping one of the Agape House families who needed a car. With little effort on our part, God provided a car, and the Agape team gave it to a family. The family was elated!
November arrives, and another family needs a car.
Ken, the Agape House Maintenance Director, shared with us the process of how the need was fulfilled.
Just a few days ago, I had the beautiful experience of God’s love again. You see, a new family came into Agape House. This family’s vehicle wasn’t running very well. I was previously an automotive technician for 35 years. My last job as a technician was at Lamb, now Casa Chevy, so I knew all the technicians there. Casa Chevy has been very generous to us in inspecting and repairing vehicles for Agape House. So I bought it for an inspection. After an honest evaluation, they found the car was not worth fixing and was not really safe. So I brought this to the attention of Becky and Juanita. We all agree that we need to start praying that God would provide a path for this mother to find a different, reliable vehicle. All the staff at Agape House began praying constantly for four days. On the fifth day, we got a call from someone buying a new vehicle who wanted to donate their old one. That in itself was beautiful. When this person delivered the car, we were all so amazed at how beautifully it was maintained. But I still wanted it inspected. Casa Chevy inspected it and found no issues. We gave the vehicle to the new mother. The huge smile and gratitude she expressed brought tears to our eyes. This is one example of how I know our God is good and loves us all. And how we all need to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In Christ’s Love,
Ken
December arrives, and another family needs a car.
Ken approached Becky, the Executive Director, and said, “You know, Becky, we really need a car for this new mom.”
“Well, Ken,” Becky replies, “it’s not our responsibility, we can’t just buy a car or fix a vehicle for everyone in need. We don’t have quite the budget for that. We have a little, but we can’t fix everyone’s car. That’s their responsibility. You’re gonna need to pray about it. God will provide. “
The next day, Kathy Parks, a long-time friend and volunteer of the ministry, calls Becky to ask, “Do you need a car?”
The Toyota was beautiful and in excellent shape.
This gift challenged our faith as well as challenged our patience to wait on God and to trust in God.
The mother had been praying and seeking answers for a couple of months. As always, in His perfect timing, God provided.
