‘Shining Star’ is a BIG deal!
Recently, Agape House was honored by the Arizona Community Foundation as one of its Shining Stars. The foundation works to improve the quality of life in Arizona by bringing generous donors together to invest in communities across our state.
At the “Joy of Giving” banquet, the Arizona Community Foundation recognized Agape House’s efforts to transition families to permanent housing. Attendees were touched and moved by the impact of Agape House, and voted to gift an additional $6,300 of the foundation’s funds to Agape House at the luncheon!
Becky Mitchell, the Agape House Director, and Board member Mark Hansen, spoke to the group, sharing stories of how Agape House has impacted the lives of families by giving them a safe place to call home and journeying and mentoring them along a path that leads to independent living.
Agape House is grateful for this recognition, as it brings more awareness to families who are experiencing homelessness and the success that Agape House has had with teaching them life skills to help them overcome their challenges and achieve independence.
