Day of Volunteer Service

Agape House had a fantastic Day of Volunteer Service. Community volunteers painted, prepared a room for a family to move into, performed gardening and weeding tasks, and completed annual deck painting and staining. It was like a scene from Tom Sawyer- when all the buddies came together and painted!  It was beautiful!

Our friends, Maren Decker, a long-term volunteer from ‘Just Serve’, and Dr. Matt Hinton, from ‘Ponderosa Pediatrics’, came out and served for many hours on Saturday!  Don also lent a helping hand. We are grateful for the years of volunteer service of Don. He has helped prepare and serve meals, held babies, assisted with financial classes, and contributed to painting and household preparation. Diane Martinez brought her crew to help, and they went above and beyond! We were blessed!

Michele Simmons and Juanita Setzer, the Agape House Resident Care Team, welcomed a new family last Thursday. Together with this incredible team of volunteers, they will welcome one more family on Tuesday.  Please pray for our new families.  We pray that they feel a warm welcome and a time of rest and restoration, and that they feel empowered as they begin this next season of their lives.   It takes many team members, and the Lord has blessed Agape House with an abundance of Volunteers that we LOVE!

Thank you to the many hands!   Thanks, Ken, for leading this dedicated team!

See our garden grow!

Thank you to the many garden volunteers over the years!   So much painting completed- the teamwork really does make the dream work!  Superstar Ken, the Agape House facilities manager, led our team with numerous projects; great job, Ken!
