Agape House Breaks Ground in Prescott Valley
On December 14, 2023, Agape House staff and supporters broke ground for Agapeville II in Prescott Valley, AZ. The new property is a “perfect spot” for graduating families transitioning from the Agape House program.
The transitional housing ministry assists single mothers, single fathers, and families in rebuilding and transforming their lives. Agape House of Prescott teaches life-skills classes, provides budgeting help, disciples the families, and connects them with valuable area resources. At graduation and completion of the program, the families look forward to moving on to the next step. This is the point where Agapeville II will be valuable.
God is on the move at Agape House! With local housing options limited and expensive, the new community will provide independent living for the graduates. The families who once lived in tents in the forest, in the backseats of cars, or on the couches of friends and relatives have successfully rebuilt their lives and will now enjoy independent living at Agapeville II.
This property will house six one- to two-bedroom manufactured homes. The estimated cost of this community is between $1.5 million and $2.1 million. The move-in date for the first family is March 2024, and the remainder will move in by the end of 2024 or early 2025. The expansion will allow Agape House to serve approximately 28 families annually.
The new property is on a triangular, half-acre lot behind a nonprofit complex on Bob Drive in Prescott Valley. The surrounding complexes have valuable family resources, such as Prevent Child Abuse Arizona, Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation, the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center, and nearby Spectrum Healthcare.
Agape House currently owns a nine-unit apartment complex in Prescott known as Agapeville. The complex is now home to 20 children, 12 years and under. In the last year, Agape has celebrated the birth of four babies and rejoiced as two graduating families purchased homes in Chino Valley.
Agape House would like to be able to open more homes to families in need. Just as the Inn Keeper opened their home to Jesus, Agape House opens homes and hearts to families in need!
