Agape House of Prescott helps families in crisis. AgapeHousePrescott.org The Agape House of Prescott is a local nonprofit that is changing the lives of families in crisis by rebuilding and transforming their lives. They exist to provide long-term transitional housing for families who are currently without a home. The face of families experiencing homelessness is not who you may think. There are students without homes at Yavapai College, Bradshaw and Prescott High School, and in Prescott area elementary schools. They serve you at restaurants, help you at Thrift Stores and Grocery Stores, and work on Construction sites. They are families living on friends’ couches, in the forest, in parking lots, and trying to manage a family while their ‘home’ is a car. Agape House of Prescott shows them love and support and shares the hope of Jesus with them. Agape House has provided discipleship, mentoring, life skills training, and interim housing for families experiencing homelessness, resulting in an 86% success rate of families living independently one year after they leave the program. Prescott Valley Expansion Receives Two More Houses
Arizona Community Foundation named Agape House of Prescott as a Shining Star at the 2025 banquet. https://agapehouseprescott.org/ Recently, Agape House was honored by the Arizona Community Foundation as one of its Shining Stars. The foundation works to improve the quality of life in Arizona by bringing generous donors together to invest in communities across our state. To be named a Shining Star is a BIG deal! At the "Joy of Giving" banquet, the Arizona Community Foundation recognized Agape House's efforts to transition families to permanent housing. Attendees were touched and moved by the impact of Agape House, and voted to gift an additional $6,300 of the foundation's funds to Agape House at the luncheon! Becky Mitchell, the Agape House Director, and Board member Mark Hansen, spoke to the group, sharing stories of how Agape House has impacted the lives of families by giving them a safe place to call home and journeying and mentoring them along a path that leads to independent living. Agape House is grateful for this recognition, as it brings more awareness to families who are experiencing homelessness and the success that Agape House has had with teaching them life skills to help them overcome their challenges and achieve independence.
