We are excited to report that two homes of six have arrived in Prescott Valley for the Prescott Valley Expansion Project (also known as Agapeville II)! This is an exciting step for the Agape House transitional housing program.

The VISION for Agape House is to see the lives of current homeless families forever saved and changed.  The MISSION of Agape House is rebuilding lives through transitional housing. A GRADUATE from Agape House is:

  • Stable, safe
  • Physically and mentally well at a maintainable level, ongoing therapy/counseling
  • Trained in life skills for independent living and self-sufficiency
  • Sustainable for future success

I recently visited with a mom who had graduated from the program. She shared, “Before Agape House, I didn’t know where I was going to go or what I was going to do.  But after Agape, I never dreamt it could have been this good.”  Her home was clean, well-organized, and smelled lovely.  Her baby rested in the back room, and her children played on the floor as we talked.  She spoke about her church, kids’ school, and her grandmother.  We are proud of her success as she secured housing for her family, had employment, maintained a livable budget, and drove a cute but modest car.

The Agape House journey began over 10 years ago when a group of community members took a prayer walk around Prescott High School.   The principal at the time said their #1 social concern was students without housing, students who didn’t have a place to live, and students living in cars and tents.  These prayer warriors decided to open a transitional housing program for families.  During the first few years, Agape House served 3 or 4 families in rented apartments.  In 2019, the ministry obtained a small apartment building just a few miles west of downtown Prescott.  At the Agapeville apartments, Agape House has served an average of 14 families annually.

The Giving-Driven Steps Include:

Step 1 :(Completed)

46 families and over 170 individuals have received Life-Changing Results. More than 1,420 supporters have secured $2.3M within the last three years. Lives have been saved and forever changed!

Step 2: (Nearly Completed)

Last year, 13 families served in the Prescott location. Initial funding for ‘Phase I’ of the Prescott Valley Expansion Project was secured. Currently, 2 out of the 6 homes are in the process of being placed. The project will provide homes for Agape graduates to continue their journey of independent living. ‘Phase I’ of the project and construction are anticipated to be completed within weeks.

Step 3: (In Progress)

Prescott Valley Expansion Project seeks $1.4M to complete the total project budget, first two years of operating costs, and secure an additional four units on approximately one acre.

Agape House Progress

Two of the six houses have been delivered. Step 3 and the PV Expansion Project are anticipated to be completed by March 2025. Our immediate focus is to complete Step 3 so that we can serve 28 families annually.
